It's such a pleasure to see all the good reviews coming out. I hope this wakes the publishers up when you have a new book to sell!

I'm so fascinated (and thrilled) by these comments. And I think Aurelio makes a great point: hopefully a person drawn to reckless thrills might also recognize, and draw back from, a true emotional mess. Might save herself. Robin, your descriptions are fabulous & familiar. Susan, thanks for linking to the LAT review. And I loved Mary Akers's book too.

Kat's one of the most passionate readers I know, so it's always a thrill to get her take on any book. Here's what she says about Dylan's book: http://katdenza.blogspot.com/2009/10/read-this-normal-people-dont-live-like.html

I'm so late to this but who cares. Dylan, your writing is exquisite. I am buying your book. Susan, given your own writing commitments and busy-ness, I'm glad you've gone ahead and showcased Dylan here!

I think that's fascinating, just how our life experiences can give us such different reads on this. Please don't apologize for bringing another perspective; it's all good.

*Ouch* - rereading my comment above, I was being way too glib. Apologies. (My pathetic attempt at humor.)

There is this whole branch of my step-family who are self-destructive and drawn to self-destruction, and I find myself not wanting to get anywhere near them, because they try to involve everyone else in their messes and intrigues. It never dawned on me anyone would actually be attracted to such things, that some people might get a thrill out of it. Dylan has introduced me to a new perspective on all this.
